I am a native of Central Louisiana, but my family has called Kirbyville home since 2005.  My wife, Karlie, and I have two kids, KHS class of 2031, and KHS Class of 2037.

After graduating from McNeese State University, I spent 10 years working in education as a teacher and administrator, all with Kirbyville CISD.  As the product of a large school system, I grew to love the atmosphere and personal feel of a small-town school district.  

Since 2015, I have worked at the ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery, and currently work as a Console Shift Supervisor and Shift Team Supervisor.  

In addition to being a Board of Trustee member for Kirbyville CISD, I also have the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for East Texas Pregnancy Help Center, and serving as a Deacon at Call Junction Baptist Church.

I am a 1999 graduate of Kirbyville High School.  I started my career as an apprentice Lineman at Jasper Newton Electric cooperative in 2001.  I started work at Entergy in Orange in 2005 as a Linemen which lead to holding several leadership positions over an 18 year span.  My current position is Sr. Coach, Power Delivery.  I chose to run for the school board to service the kids of KCISD, my alma mater and the community in which I love.

Chad Wiggins

I was born and raised in Mauriceville, TX and graduated from LC-M in 1995. From there I moved on to McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA with a focus on Biology and Chemistry. It wasn't long before I became interested in pharmacy. It was a nice mix of both Biology and Chemistry and it was a field that I could own and operate my own business. While waiting to get in to pharmacy school I continued taking classes at Lamar University for two semesters, at which time I met my bride to be, Teri. I attended pharmacy school at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ and received my Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2004. The weekend following graduation Teri and I were married and life took off. We purchased S & R Pharmacy in 2006, property in Magnolia Springs, built a home, settled in to a local church and life began. We now have four wonderful children and are doing our best to make the most of each day with them. We truly feel blessed that we are able to raise our children in Kirbyville and are proud to call it home.

Coming from a long line of KHS graduates, I also received my education from KCISD graduating in 2001. A month after graduating I met and fell in love with Gary whom I would marry 2 years later.  We have been married 20 plus years and have two wonderful children. Hunter, who graduated in 2022 and is now an honor student at ETBU in Marshall, and Layne who will graduate from KHS in 2026.

After meeting Gary, I continued my education and worked as a safety professional utilizing my Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health. I later went back to school to become an educator and I taught at Kirbyville Elementary for many years. I now am employed by Edward Jones Investments in Lumberton.  I have owned and operated Wildcat Swimming Aquademy for fourteen years having taught hundreds of children and adults basic life-saving skills and how to swim.

I joined the board in 2024 with goals to hear anyone out with any concerns they may have and to ensure our community every opportunity possible to be involved in decision making for our schools.  Mostly, I joined the board because I truly love kids and want to ensure they are heard just as much as the adults in our community.

Tyler Downs

Born and raised in Kirbyville, I attended KCISD K-12 and graduated in 2011 from KHS. I was very involved in extracurricular activities in school and look forward to seeing that all kids have the chance to be the best that they can be!

After High School, I went to Lamar University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics. I have been married to my beautiful wife Ashlee since 2016, we have two little girls, Annistyn and Tatum, whom are both proud Wildcats!

Professionally, I have been in industrial sales serving Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana for the past 12 years.  I am currently employed with BK Industrial Solutions as the Director of Sales. I am also the President of the Kirbyville Chamber of Commerce where I have been on the board for 4 years.

Kirbyville is a great place, and I enjoy serving the citizens of this great community!
